Road Markings: Centre Line and Edge Line

These standards dictate the design, placement, and materials for lines that define the centre and edges of a carriageway.

Centre lines separate opposing flows of traffic, while edge lines delineate the traversable width of the road. These markings are crucial for guiding drivers, especially in poor visibility, and for indicating permissible overtaking manoeuvres. Standards cover line width, colour, material reflectivity, and the use of broken or continuous lines.
